New Service

Requirements- (where there has never been electrical service)

The following steps must be completed before your new service installation can be scheduled.

  1. Complete the following forms
  1. Acquire 911 Service Address
  • This can be obtained from the building permit

  1. Pay the following fees
  • Meter deposit: $100 or sign up for automatic bill payment (print form)
  • New Service Connection fee: $350.00 single phase, $1,350.00 three phase
  • Aid to Construction-If primary line needs to be installed, there will be an Aid to Construction charge assessed. This charge is determined by the number of feet to be installed and if it is single phase or three phase. The charge will be calculated when the work order is drawn up.
  1. Meter Installation
  • The electrician and/or customer will notify the Cooperative when the installation of the customers meter socket is completed, and provide the Cooperative with blue copy of the Affidavit of Electrical Inspection. When that is received, the Cooperative will install a meter.
  1. Billing Commencement
  • One (1) month after a line extension (primary wire installed and/or a transformer installed) has been completed to the premises; the Cooperative will commence billing the customer under the Cooperatives applicable rates and rules for the type of service requested by the customer.
  1. Line Extension for a New Service-Contribution in Aid of Construction
  • From the beginning of construction season to September 30th, the fee for a single phase line extension will be $4.50 per foot. There will be a minimum of $400.00 for a single phase line extension when primary wire and/or a transformer have to be installed. The fee for a three phase line extension will be $8.50 per foot. There will be a minimum of $1,000.00 for a three phase line extension when primary wire and/or transformer have to be installed. Any unusual construction costs such as: permits, directional bores, frost charges, ect. will be in addition to the costs above. This must be paid prior to the start of construction.
  • From October 1st to the end of construction season, the cost for a single phase line extension will be $5.50 per foot. There will be a minimum of $450.00 for single phase line extension when primary wire and/or a transformer have to be installed. Any unusual construction costs such as: permits, directional bores, frost charges, etc. will be in addition to the costs above. This must be paid prior to the start of construction.
